(4) Manner
Clarity, directness, brevity, and logic are all useful in nurturing an effective exchange between two or more people.
Note: Some of the most interesting conversations we have with people are long, drawn-out, even cryptic. However, if this becomes the case in a classroom full of students, ask yourself, “Do I think my ELLs are able to follow what we is being said here?” “Is this conversation actually productive, or is it simply talk for talk’s sake?”
