Grammar: A
Final Thought
There are no hard and fast rules on teaching grammar. As with many things in life, it is probably best taught in moderation. Avoid the red ink on the paper of an ELL (or a native English speaker for that matter). Choose one error (maybe two) to isolate and hope that, with time and practice, the student will be able (a) to recognize the deviations from Standard English and (b) to fix them as needed or desired.
